Florence, the city of art and culture. If you only have two days to explore this wonderful city, here is a recommended itinerary that will allow you to see the most important sights:

Day 1:

Morning: Start your day by visiting Florence Cathedral (Santa Maria del Fiore). Admire the imposing facade and, if you're willing to take a few stairs, climb the dome to enjoy a panoramic view of the city.
After visiting the Duomo, head to the Baptistery of San Giovanni, located opposite the Duomo. Admire its famous bronze portals and visit the interior to see the frescoes.
Continue to Piazza della Signoria, the political heart of Florence. Admire Michelangelo's statue of David at the entrance to the Palazzo Vecchio and visit the Uffizi Gallery, home to one of the world's most important art collections. Book tickets in advance to avoid long lines.
After lunch, cross the Arno River and visit the Oltrarno district. Explore the picturesque narrow streets, discover traditional artisan workshops and visit the majestic Santo Spirito Basilica.
In the afternoon, visit the Pitti Palace, one of the main royal residences in Florence, which houses various art galleries and the Boboli Gardens. Explore the beautiful gardens and enjoy views of the city.
